The scene is the unit you can use to play a song entirely or a song section. The Scene is organized in Layers, which are hosting your Hardware, Software instruments and FX. The Layers connect and route your Midi Controllers to your Instruments as well as managing the Audio generated by Software Instruments and FX. The Scene has a proprietary Smart Switch that does not interrupt the audio generated by the software instruments and also does not interrupt any MIDI communication.
The Layers are organized in 3 sections: Scene, Song Rack, and Setlist Rack. Use Rack if you want to load a configuration for the entire Song or Setlist. That has the advantage to load once something that you are going to reuse very often. With the unlock feature you can always adjust Levels and Mute/unmute state on each item loaded on Song/Setlist Racks.
