Layers & Items View

A Scene is a complete configuration of plugins, MIDI management, and hardware control, used for playing one or more song sections. Each Scene is organized into Layers, which host MIDI processors, MIDI hardware control, software instruments, and post-processors like audio FX. Layers connect and route physical MIDI controllers to your Instruments, manage audio inputs for external sources, and process and mix audio generated by software instruments. Camelot’s Smart Scene Switching means you can change Scenes without interrupting the MIDI message stream or causing glitches in the audio.

Items used frequently in a Song or a set can be placed into a Song Rack or Setlist Rack. These are like special Scenes that stay the same for the entire Song or Setlist, which reduces the amount of loading. When a Scene changes you’ll see different Layers, but the Song Rack remains unaltered. While settings in a Rack usually stay the same as Scenes change, the unlock feature lets you make exceptions, in which the level or mute status of an item loaded on a Song or Setlist Rack can change only for a specific Scene.
